envisioned a public garden, zoo and theatre in 1890, when "Elitch's Zoological Gardens" opened on May 1st for its first season. Over the decades she and her Elitch Team developed a grand Amusement Park, Arcade, Picnic Venue, Baseball Stadium and Center for Theater, Music and Culture. Mary Elitch lived in her cottage within the park grounds until 1932. Elitch's remained open at the 38th and Tennyson location until 1995, when it moved to Downtown Denver. Many who were here before 1995 fell in love with-- and ❤️ fell in love at ❤️ -- Elitch's Park, over the hundred years it was open. Denver children were welcomed and encouraged at Elitch Gardens, and they love it to this day!
